The FESCO Transportation Group (FESCO, the Group, managed by the Rosatom state corporation) is expanding alternative rail and intermodal routes for delivering cargo to southern Russia via Vladivostok and St. Petersburg amid the situation in the Black Sea.

The Group has relaunched a regular rail service from Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port (VMTP, part of FESCO) to Timashevskaya station in the Krasnodar Territory. To begin with, two container trains a month are planned. Express trains to Rostov-on-Don also run from VMTP four times a month. Both routes include road delivery of containers to the end consignees.

For export shipments FESCO offers intermodal solutions from Rostov-on-Don and Timashevsk via VMTP to the countries of East and Southeast Asia. The service includes regular container trains to Vladivostok and onward carriage on the Group’s own shipping lines.

At customers’ request the Group also arranges direct container trains from southern Russia to China through land border crossings.

FESCO has in addition set up rail services from St. Petersburg to Timashevskaya and Novorossiysk stations to deliver container cargo from China, India and Southeast Asian countries to southern Russia. Shipments also run in the opposite direction. Direct road delivery from St. Petersburg to Russia’s southern regions is available to customers as well.

“In current conditions it is important for us to give customers the ability to keep shipping safely to southern Russia. That is why we are expanding our rail and intermodal services via Vladivostok and St. Petersburg. Our task is to adapt transport solutions to the changed circumstances as quickly as possible and to provide customers with the shipping capacity they need,” said FESCO Deputy General Director for the Liner and Logistics Division German Maslov.
