Until the end of the year, a tariff coefficient of 0.8 will apply to export shipments of grain and legumes in covered hopper cars from stations in the Siberian Federal District toward port stations of the Far Eastern and Trans-Baikal railways. For shipments toward port stations of the North Caucasus Railway, the coefficient will be 0.885. The measure will remain in effect through the end of 2026. According to estimates by Sergey Sokolov, vice president of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and chairman of the agricultural committee, the discount will amount to approximately 400–550 rubles per ton, depending on the destination.
In the current agricultural season, Siberian grain exports have reached a historic record, according to calculations by the analytical center RosAgroTrans: from July 2025 to February 2026, the region exported 3.6 million tons of grain. Total grain exports from Siberia in 2025/26 were estimated at 5.3 million tons (+2 million tons, or 60% compared to 2024/25), and including legumes, 5.7 million tons.
The center’s analysts also noted growth in railway grain exports (+26% season-on-season). The share of railway transport increased to 40% in grain exports and to 45% in wheat exports (by February it reached 35%).
