From Chelyabinsk to China

The demand for Russian products from foreign partners has prompted transport companies to expand their service offerings

The first container train loaded with 150 TEUs left the Formachevo station (South Ural Railway line) of the Yuzhnouralsky Dry Port transport and logistics center (part of the STLC) to the Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port (VCSP, part of FESCO) on January 15. Estimated travel time is 10 to 11 days. Once the containers are delivered to the VCSP, they will be reloaded onto vessels and shipped by FESCO maritime foreign trade services to the Chinese port of Xingang and the Vietnamese port of Haiphong.

It may be recalled that last summer the company opened a regular FESCO Chelyabinsk Shuttle railway service, which is focused on transporting imported goods, including consumer goods and household appliances, from East and Southeast Asia to the South Ural region.

"FESCO Chelyabinsk Shuttle eastbound implies the return loading of the service with goods from the Chelyabinsk region and neighboring regions for their further shipment by FESCO sea lines to China, Korea, Vietnam and India, as well as by coastal services to Magadan, Petropavlovsk–Kamchatsky, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Anadyr," said the director of FESCO Integrated Transport Yekaterinburg branch Sergey Vasiliev.
