On June 19, the first container train was dispatched from Guangzhou (Guangdong Province, South China) following an integrated schedule: China - Mongolia - Russia - Belarus - Poland.
This transcontinental route across Eurasia covers a distance of approximately 11,200 km, with cargo delivery completed in 16 days.
The integrated schedule includes fixed train numbers, predetermined routes, and an accurate timetable for the entire journey.
The train consists of 55 forty-foot containers, and it is operated by Guangwu International Logistics company. This company is planning to initiate weekly train shipments from the international port of Guangzhou in the near future.
The introduction of this new global channel is set to enhance logistics connections between Asia and Europe and boost foreign trade exports from the Greater Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area.
In 2023, China's cross-border e-commerce import and export volume totaled 2.38 trillion yuan, with Guangdong Province contributing 843.3 billion yuan.
The growth in exports from this region of China exceeded 25%, significantly outperforming the overall Chinese economy by almost 10 percentage points.
