The 14th annual Youth Rally of Russian Railways has closed in Moscow. This year the international section was attended by 30 young specialists from foreign railway companies - Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, as well as guests from Abkhazia and Cuba, who visited the Rally for the first time.
«The development of international youth cooperation is one of the objectives of the target program «Youth of JSC «Russian Railways». Since 2011, it has been a tradition to hold an international section as part of the annual Youth Rally. This communication platform contributes to the exchange of experience between young railway workers from different countries, the improvement of professional skills, strengthening ties, as well as creating a positive image of Russian Railways in the international arena», says Deputy Director of Russian Railways’ Corporate University Yulia Kushnirenko.
During the week, young delegates exchanged professional experience. Meetings were organized for foreign colleagues with profile experts and executives of Russian Railways, where they discussed the latest achievements of the holding company, innovative development and prospects for international cooperation.
One of those meetings was held with Sergey Pavlov, First Deputy General Director of Russian Railways. In his speech, he told young professionals about the role of Russian Railways holding company in the international arena, training of personnel, operations in conditions of current realities and reorientation of the traffic flows, digitalization of transportation processes, and shared experience of implementation of major international contracts.
Thus, according to Sergey Pavlov, the geography of the holding company's projects is constantly growing. Russian Railways partners with railway workers in Asia, Africa and Latin America. «Along with logistics, we offer foreign clients services in engineering and railway management, consulting and R&D (Research and Development - Ed.), supply of machinery and technology, training and personnel development. In total, more than 150 products and services form the Export Portfolio of Russian Railways holding company,» noted Sergey Pavlov.
Also during the event, participants visited Russian Railways' Corporate University, the main control center of Russian Railways, the Transportation Control Center of the Central Directorate of Traffic Control, the Bekasovo-Sortirovochnoe station, the Podmoskovskaya motor car depot and other advanced railway transport facilities.
«We are all impressed by Russian Railways, from the huge infrastructure to the modern rolling stock,» says Antonio Pacheco Menendez, a telecommunications specialist for NC Cuban Railways. - «It's incredible that railway lines throughout the country have been automated and locomotive control has been organized within such large-scale company».
Antonio Pacheco Menendez also added that Cuban Railways plans to apply the solutions presented by Russian Railways to its own company as well, in particular, to introduce centralized and automated systems of traffic control and management, to ensure maximum utilization of the rolling stock imported from Russia and to improve the railway infrastructure.
The final stage of the international section was a festival of national cultures, in which young professionals learned about the cultures and traditions of the participating countries. Its goal was to learn the peculiarities of language, everyday life, traditions, crafts and cultures of railway workers of other countries.
