Streamlined registration process

Once implemented, the Seamless Transit project will enable smoother transportation between China, the EAEU, and the CIS countries, reducing stops and delays at cargo transfer points.

Belarus will join the Seamless Transit project in the first quarter of 2025. The emergence of a new participant will accelerate the development of stable container rail transport between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and China.

Belarus' accession to the project was announced after a meeting of the EEC Advisory Committee on Transport and Infrastructure.

The Seamless Transit project is being implemented as part of the general transition of the EAEU countries to digital technologies to create a single union transport space.

It started in May this year on the China – Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan route (South Transportation Corridor). The aim of the project is to introduce electronic document management, which will simplify the management and control of container rail transport on routes from China to Central Asia and Europe.

The project will enable smoother transportation between China, the EAEU, and the CIS countries, reducing stops and delays at cargo transfer points and speeding up container processing at borders.

Unified electronic document flow will increase the reliability of transportation. Cargo traffic with China and the Eurasian Economic Union has grown, requiring more efficient and streamlined registration processing.

While trade along the east-west route traditionally focused on China-Europe exchanges, today the Russian Federation accounts for the lion's share in these trading patterns, which includes the transit that went through the Republic of Kazakhstan.
